HOURS PER WEEK: 40 hours per week at 260 days per year

 

POSITION GOAL: To assist the Human Resource Manager and act as the liaison with

employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of issues. The position will support daily HR activities and assist in coordinating HR policies, processes and relevant documentation.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist with day to day operations of the human resource functions and duties.
  2. Provide administrative support to the Human Resource Manager.
  3. Compile and update employee records. (e.g. leave, timesheets etc.)
  4. Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities. (e.g. OSHA, Workers Compensation etc.)
  5. Coordinate human resource projects (meetings, training, surveys, etc).
  6. Assist with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
  7. Assist Human Resources Manager with complaints and grievance procedures.
  8. Assist with recruitment process.
  9. Assist Employee Specialist in personnel and payroll functions.
  10. Maintain open, constructive and communicative attitude. Establish positive interpersonal relationships focusing on solving conflict, maintaining confidentiality, and contributing to building a productive team atmosphere.
  11. Accomplish assigned tasks in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
  12. Work independently and demonstrate flexibility within established guidelines to make decisions about how the workflow will be handled as per agency procedures.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of three years’ experience in human resource related position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  4. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  5. General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
  6. Experience in administration of benefits and other HR programs.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  8. Skills in database management and record keeping.
  9. Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
  10. Excellent organizational skills.
  11. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  12. Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.

 

The equivalent combination of experience, training, certification, education or degree as determined by the district that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be used as an alternative to prerequisites.

 

LENGTH OF POSITION: 12 months

 

SALARY:  Recommended by the superintendent and set by board

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Administrator
